Building the Woodie’s Wash Shack Experience in Tampa

ABI Companies completed a ground-up Woodie’s Wash Shack at 8935 North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa. Delivered on an accelerated schedule, the project transformed an undeveloped site into a fully operational, technology-driven car wash facility.

The completed location combines specialized automotive equipment with Woodie’s distinctive 1960s surf-inspired brand, creating an experience designed to stand apart from a conventional car wash.

Built Around Specialized Car Wash Technology

Car wash construction requires the building, site, and operating equipment to function as one coordinated system. At the center of the Woodie’s facility is a 100-foot wash tunnel designed to provide additional services and longer wash times.

The tunnel includes a conveyor system that safely carries vehicles through the wash while protecting their rims and tires. Its extra-wide design accommodates vehicles measuring up to 7 feet 2 inches in both width and height.

Bringing these systems together required careful construction and coordination throughout the ground-up project. The finished facility provides the infrastructure Woodie’s needs to deliver an efficient and consistent customer experience.

Bringing the Woodie’s Brand to Life

Woodie’s Wash Shack is a family-owned Tampa Bay business built around old-school service and a memorable coastal identity. Its locations draw inspiration from the surf culture of the 1960s, represented by the company’s recognizable Woodie Surf Wagon.

That personality is incorporated throughout the customer experience. Tropical design elements, surf-inspired details, music, and even the scent of coconut turn the trip through the wash tunnel into something more distinctive than an ordinary service stop.

ABI’s role was to translate that vision into a complete physical environment while meeting the technical requirements of a modern car wash facility.

The ABI team worked diligently to complete the ground-up construction within an accelerated schedule. A project time-lapse documented the progression from bare land through construction and ultimately to the opening of the finished facility.
