Barrisol Stretch Ceiling Installation

A ceiling can do far more than complete a room. At Primo Water in Midtown, ABI Companies installed a custom Barrisol stretch ceiling that transforms a functional architectural element into a distinctive focal point.

Made from flexible PVC fabric and illuminated by thousands of LED lights, the finished installation brings light, shape, and visual interest together in one carefully constructed feature.

A Custom Design for the Conference Room

The Barrisol ceiling was created in an oval shape to mirror the conference room table directly beneath it. This alignment gives the room a strong sense of balance while producing a radiant halo effect throughout the space.

Rather than relying on a conventional ceiling fixture, the illuminated surface distributes light across the feature. The result is a clean, contemporary design that immediately draws attention without overwhelming the room.

A Specialized Installation Process

Creating the feature required the Barrisol fabric to be heated, stretched, and carefully molded into its final oval form. This specialized process allows the material to conform to custom shapes that would be difficult to achieve with traditional ceiling systems.

Precise installation was essential. The shape had to remain consistent, the material had to appear smooth, and the lighting needed to work evenly across the entire surface. Each part of the feature had to come together correctly to achieve the intended effect.
